Clean Your Tesla

A spotless Tesla not only makes a good first impression but also tells us that the car has been well-maintained. Here is how to ensure that your Tesla looks its absolute best before selling.

Exterior Cleaning

Washing & Waxing:

Begin with thoroughly washing the car to remove any dirt or grime from the surface, and use a high-quality car shampoo, along with a microfibre wash mitt to avoid scratching the vehicle paint. Once you have done this, rinse and dry with a clean, soft car shammy. Follow up this process with premium wax to protect the paint and give your Tesla a nice shine.

Tire & Wheel Care:

Pay special attention to the tyres and wheels. Use a professional and dedicated wheel cleaner to remove brake dust and grime. Scrub the tyres accordingly and apply a tyre dressing to give them a clean, polished appearance.

Windows & Mirrors:

Dirty glass diminishes the appearance of a car significantly. Make sure to clean all windows and mirrors inside and out with window cleaner to ensure they are streak-free and crystal clear. Clean windows increase visibility and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the car.

Interior Cleaning

Vacuuming:

Properly vacuum the interior, including the seats, carpets, and floor mats. To get to the deep and smaller areas, use a crevice tool to be able to remove all dirt. Pay special attention to under the seats and in between the seat cushions, making sure you don’t miss out on any area.

Furniture & Dashboard:

If your Tesla contains leather seats, clean and condition them with products that are specifically designed for automotive leather. For fabric seats, consider hiring a washer cleaner to remove any stains and freshen up the material. Don’t forget to wipe down all surfaces with antibacterial spray (scented is optional) to remove fingerprints and dust, and make your car smell nice and clean.

Odour Removal:

Make your Tesla smell as good as it looks by removing any lingering odours by cleaning all surfaces and using a nice-smelling air freshener. When you are selling your Tesla it’s always safer to go for a more generic air freshener like floral or fruity scents as it’s most commonly used by car owners.

Repair Minor Damage

Identifying and addressing minor damage is important for enhancing the appearance, functionality, and value of your Tesla. Make a start by inspecting your vehicle for scratches, paint chips, or dents. For light and shallow scratches, use a scratch removal product or touch up the paint to achieve a smooth finish. Deeper scratches, especially in visible areas, are best to be handled by a professional to help restore the vehicle’s original appearance.

Ensure all lights and signals are functioning properly, replacing any possible burnt-out bulbs with fresh new ones. Additionally, to be extra sure, it is a good idea to double-check your window screen for any chips or cracks, to help you get this replaced as soon as possible.
